As information technology and data management continue their rapid leap forward, we have an opportunity to reimagine our use of data as a tool to propel breakthroughs in health. Shared data and new research platforms are likely to drive researchers to cures more rapidly, but they also call upon us to navigate thoughtfully between privacy concerns and the imperative of advancing knowledge.
